Microlensing light curves — live

Planet !!!   Two characteristic spikes, separated by about a week, mark the first ever observed clear microlensing signature of a planet orbiting a star other than the Sun. Finding a planet about 2.5 times as massive as Jupiter nearly 20,000 light-years away from us opened a new window of opportunity for studying planets around distant stars 'typical' for the Milky Way rather than being restricted to our neighbourhood.
